Registering software

1. Navigate to Assets → Software.
2. Click Add Software.
3. Provide: name, vendor, version, and license type.
4. Link to the assets where the software is installed.

Linking to assets

Software records can be linked to hardware assets to show what runs where. This feeds into the service catalog — when a business service depends on specific software, the full chain from service → software → asset is visible.

Version tracking

Update the version field when software is upgraded. The audit trail captures version changes with timestamps, providing a history of deployments.
